RUDY ZWIEG
1917 - 2008

Rudy will be missed by all his NFDA and spearing friends.

Rudy Zwieg resides in Alexandria, Minnesota and has been making fish decoys since 1944. He started making them for his own spearing use, then for family and friends and gradually a few for public sale. He paints them with oils and they have been very popular fish attractors over the years. Some of Rudy's fish decoys are on display in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.

Rudy was born on October 7th in 1917. He no longer spears due to health concerns but is still making a few fish. In 2003, at the John Jensen nationals, he was inducted into the fish decoy carvers Hall of Fame. Below are a few examples of Mr. Zwieg's fish decoys.
